Now that a week has passed since the end of the season and the dusted has settled, on behalf of the football club, we’d like to extend a huge thank you to the volunteers and club staff, for their efforts over what has been a rather testing season.

Firstly, I’d like to say an enormous thank you to Dan ‘Pieface’ Haldane, who as ever, has been great help across this season – from selling pie’s to helping with bus organisation, raffles, assisting with hospitality and all the other bits of work he’s done across the season. As well as him, both Cole Williams and Jack Morton are owed a big thank you as well for their efforts across this season. Finally, I’d like to add a huge thank you to Dan Hume, who’s helped with all of the above – and been invaluable when it’s come to putting on events throughout this season.
As well as those lads, I’d like to add a huge thank you to every single one of the clubs volunteer’s – who’ve all certainly been through it this season Having been involved in the running of the club over the last 5 months or so, seeing the amount of work that the likes of Jeff Young, Colin Blackett, Scott Gibson and Bryan Turner all put in at the office throughout the week and on a matchday, is truly mind blowing.
On top of that, a big thank you is owed to Michael Tilmouth, the rest of the gate staff and all of the volunteer gate staff – who’ve all been brilliant as ever throughout the season. As well as them, a thank you is owed to both Sarah Mattocks and Janette Strong – who’ve done a brilliant job getting programmes sold and putting half time draw tickets out.
Of course, I couldn’t really go on without thanking the man, the myth, the legend that is Peter Henderson. As ever, he’s been truly invaluable.

A big thank you is also owed to Media Manager Paul Scott and all of his team, who’ve had a thankless task in many ways this season – with the struggles both on and off the field. As well as the club’s media, I’d be doing a disservice to both Mark Carruthers and Jordan Cronin if I didn’t thank them for their efforts this season – who’ve done a superb job covering the club in the wider press across the season.
The Clubhouse has once again, been tremendous this year as well. Gillian Blackett and all her staff have been superb on every match day, and been golden when putting up with us when doing events throughout the season.

As well as the clubhouse, Bell’s bottle bar has been a superb little addition to Croft Park since the takeover in November. It’s helped raise some additional some additional income throughout the last few months, and the staff who work/volunteer in there have been superb.
In Hospitality, Michael Blyth has truly worked his socks off in recent months. It’s partly down to the effort of him and his team of volunteers, that hospitality has been becoming since November.
As ever, the volunteers in the club store have been superb since rreturning to their roles in November. Since then, Ian Hertwick, Karen Hertwick, Anth Seghini and Peter Thompson have helped raise a huge amount of income. It’s in part thanks to their efforts that the football club is still functioning.

As well as help with the store, both Ian and Anth especially have both been great sounding boards throughout the year, and have always been superb when it comes to getting advice – as have the likes of Mark Walker, Martin Hunter, Matt Justice, Craig Nicholson, Craig Whiteman and others. These lads and others have always been there to pass on some sage advice – and have been great when it came to helping myself get the Spartans Trust ready to launch.

As well as the above, I’d like to add a thank you to our sponsors this season – Premier Choice (Grant Phillips), R&S Building and Groundworks (Shay Hedley) and Lennon Properties (Martin Trinder) for their generous support throughout the season. I’d also like to add a huge thank you to Tony Young, very generous support with away travel.
Next season, both the football club and the supporters trust will have plenty of volunteering opportunities available to those of you who wish to get involved. Regardless of what your skills are or how much time you can contribute, we’ll be happy to hear from you!
Finally, I’d like to say an enormous thank you to the Spartans faithful, for your unwavering support throughout this season. It’s not been a pleasant watch, and it hasn’t been a lot of fun at times this season, and across the 6 seasons. Regardless of that though, you’ve turned up in your numbers both and home and away – spending your hard earned cash to back the lads time and time again.
This club is absolutely nothing without you.

Rest assured, the work is already underway to ensure that we begin the 2025/26 campaign the right way – while giving you a football club that you can be truly proud to support.
Details of the football club’s next quarterly forum will be following shortly, which should be taking place on Thursday 15th May at the clubhouse – though that date and the time will be confirmed ASAP.
Cheers,
Dan Rolls
