Dobson wins Spartans Fans Player of the Season

Absolutely delighted to announce that young goalkeeper Callum Dobson has won the Spartans Fans Player of the Season award.

Arriving at the club at the end of pre-season, Callum immediately slotted into the first team and quickly established himself as a key player and a fan favourite, in the early stages of the season under the tutelage of goalkeeper coach Phil Hogg.

As the weeks went on, Callum’s performance would continue to improve week on week – as he would often end up keeping Spartans in games single-handedly.

Even throughout recent months as the team has jelled together under Marc Nash and Anthony Woodhouse, Callum has still had to be called on – sometimes being the difference between victory and defeat.

On Callum’s POTS win, Phil Hogg said “Massive congratulations to Cal on being named Supporters’ Player of the Year, 100% fully deserved.

Since coming in on loan, he’s just got what the club’s about. He’s worked hard, put a shift in every week, trained well and never hidden, even when it’s been tough. That’s all our supporters ask for, and he’s given it.

Around the group he’s been spot on as well, trains properly, sets a good standard, and puts the team first. You can see why the fans have taken to him. Proper Spartans mentality.
